OBERLIN, Ohio — The Oberlin Police Department is inviting the community to participate in its Cram-a-Cruiser food drive this weekend by dropping off non-perishable food items at the police cruiser stationed outside the Oberlin Police Department.
All items collected during the event – which runs from Nov. 14 -17 -- will be donated to Oberlin Community Services (OCS) to support local families in need during the holiday season.
OCS provides food, financial assistance, educational outreach and other basic needs to roughly 350 to 400 families each week who might otherwise struggle to put food on the table. Many of the people who rely on OCS are struggling with inadequate income, hunger, lack of health care coverage, substandard housing and home foreclosure. Recently, a rising number of OCS
