Two people have died after a small plane carrying hurricane relief supplies to Jamaica crashed into the backyard of a Florida home.
The plane was seen in CCTV videos posted online crashing into a pond at the back of homes in the Florida suburb of Coral Springs, near Fort Lauderdale, on Monday morning local time.
The 12-seater Beech B100 plane had taken off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport about 10.14am, crashing only five minutes into its flight.
The US National Transportation Safety Board confirmed in a post on X that it was investigating the crash.
“The City of Coral Springs Police can confirm that two people tragically lost their lives as a result of a plane crash,” a statement from the Coral Springs Police Department said.
