MANCHESTER, Conn. — Leaders of the Manchester Road Race made sure that the holiday season will run more smoothly from a charity standpoint for the Manchester Area Conference of Churches, or MACC.
The race committee presented the local nonprofit with a check for $12,000 Monday to help them navigate the weeks ahead.
“We have a group of 'Honors Club’ runners – 120 of them who gave $100 each to support this cause," said Tris Carta, the longtime president of the Manchester Road Race.
According to their website , MACC's mission is "building partnerships to break cycles of poverty in our community. They provide support and assistance with basic essential needs such as food, housing, utilities and clothing.
