BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The FBI’s Birmingham Division is joining a new national effort to take down violent crime and organized criminal networks operating across Alabama and the United States.
The Homeland Security Task Force is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations. The mission is to target cartels, transnational gangs and terrorist organizations tied to crimes like drug and human trafficking, extortion, kidnapping and murder.
“Let me be clear to those out there committing violent crime or transnational organized crime, you cannot hide. We will find you. We will hunt you down. That’s just what we do,” said David R. Fitzgibbons, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Birmingham.
