Being in the UFC comes with plenty of perks, fame, fans, and financial opportunities. But that same spotlight can quickly turn into a double-edged sword when admiration crosses the line into obsession. Over the years, fighters/celebrities have faced unsettling situations that spiraled far beyond what anyone could have imagined. UFC flyweight Tracy Cortez has experienced something similar.

The Phoenix, Arizona native is set to compete on the undercard of UFC 322 in New York on November 15, where she’ll take on Erin Blanchfield . Before the fight, however, the 31-year-old appeared on the ‘Thinking with a Pump’ podcast, where she opened up about one of the “weirdest” fan encounters she’s ever experienced. And an incident so unsettling that it ultimately drove her to leave her home.
