Voting in 122 of the 243 Assembly seats in the second and final phase of the Bihar elections was underway on Tuesday. The turnout was 60.4% till 3 pm, according to the Election Commission.

The highest turnout was recorded in the Kishanganj district (66.1%) and the lowest in Nawada district (53.17%).

The polling began at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm.

Security has been tightened in the state following a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort metro station on Monday, which left at least eight persons dead. The police has filed a case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Bihar Director General of Police Vinay Kumar told ANI that authorities conducted overnight checks at lodges, hostels, bus and railway stations, and marketplaces as part of the security measures.
