MISSISSIPPI. - The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) has begun issuing partial distribution of SNAP benefits after approval from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Other neighboring states such as Arkansas are hoping to follow suit.
FOX13 reached out to Arkansas Department of Human Services who said they are "continuing to move toward issuing partial benefits in line with the latest USDA guidance, and are working to make them available later this week if possible."
According to MDHS, 65% of the November SNAP benefit budget will be given to recipients beginning on November 10. The amount of benefits given was determined by the USDA and not the MDHS.
SNAP recipients are issued their benefits between the 4th and the 21st of each month. If you usually get your
