A former New Haven police officer charged in connection with the paralysis of Richard "Randy" Cox will avoid jail time, according to court records.
Ronald Pressley - one of five police officers arrested for allegedly mistreating a man who wound up paralyzed in the back of a police van in 2022 - was sentenced to 60 days in prison, but he doesn't physically have to serve time.

The court imposed a 60-day jail sentence, but the judge decided not to make Pressley serve that jail time right now. For the next six months, he's in a probationary period.
If Pressley follows the conditions of his probation, he won't have to serve time.
