Big Brother viewers have suggested Channel 10 "tricked" them into voting for a new housemate to enter the house while hiding her political affiliations.

Jane, 67, made history on Monday night as the oldest housemate Big Brother Australia has ever seen after viewers were invited to vote for who they wanted to see become the show's 13th housemate.

On Sunday's night launch show , host Mel Tracina told viewers they could choose from Jane or Mitch to enter the house the following evening.

"I'm a grandmother but not your average grandmother. My suitcase has no tracksuits, it's all sparkles, heels, bikinis," Jane said in a teaser clip.

"I'm going to talk some s**t, I'm going to tell some lies, and now I'm single, you better watch out!"
