GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Generation Center in Grand Island hosted its first veterans party Monday, honoring local veterans with a meal and speakers.
The event began with veterans receiving their meals first. Students from Grand Island Central Catholic handed out the meals to attendees.
Veterans then heard from several speakers, including members of the Grand Island City Council and the chairman of Hall County Warriors.
Grand Island Mayor Roger Steele said it’s important to honor veterans who made sacrifices for the country.
