MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - A section of Orange Street closed for sewer work starting Monday.

Orange Street is closed to all traffic from East 5th Street to East 6th Street for a week, according to the Muscatine Department of Public Works.

The road is closed so sewer service can be disconnected in the 500 block of Orange Street, officials said.

Work was originally supposed to start on Nov. 3 but was pushed back after crews couldn’t get the correct traffic control signs in time, city officials said.

Officials expect the road to reopen by the end of the day on Friday.

Detours will be to use Mulberry Avenue or Oak Street, officials said.
