EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Hockey Hall of Fame inducted eight new members on Monday, among them former Michigan State defenseman Duncan Keith.
Keith played two seasons at Michigan State from 2001 to 2003 and was drafted in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. He went on to play 17 years in the NHL, spending his first 16 seasons with Chicago, helping the Blackhawks capture three Stanley Cup Championships.
Keith famously scored in his MSU debut in the “Cold War” game vs. Michigan, played outdoors at Spartan Stadium.
A native of Winnipeg, Canada, Keith won two Olympic gold medals with the Canadian team in 2010 and 2014. He is a four-time NHL All-Star, three-time Stanley Cup champion, two-time Norris Trophy winner (given yearly to the NHL’s top defenseman
