FOUR MEMBERS of a family, including a pregnant woman and her three-year-old daughter, were killed in a major fire that broke out Sangli’s Vita town on Saturday morning.

According to Sangli district police, the incident took place in Savarkar Nagar area of Vita town in Sangli district—around 200 kilometres from Pune and 60km from Sangli district headquarters. Police have identified the deceased as Vishnu Joshi (50), his wife Sunanda Joshi (46), their daughter Priyanka Yogesh Ingle (25), who was pregnant and Priyanka’s daughter Srushti (3). Police said that Vishnu and Sunanda’s son Suraj (20) escaped unhurt as he managed to come out in time.
