GREEN BAY — When ESPN’s Laura Rutledge grabbed Matt LaFleur shortly before the start of the third quarter after a scoreless first half, the Green Bay Packers coach described the game as a “fistfight.”
What an insult to fistfights that was.
If the Packers and the defending Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles are two of the best teams in the NFC, well, that should give the conference’s other contenders all kinds of help.
After the 0-0 first half — the first scoreless first half of a “Monday Night Football” game since a 2009 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens — the scoring deluge of the second half consisted of 17 total points. And, unfortunately for the Packers, the Eagles scored more of them in a 10-7 victory.
The loss dropped the Packers to 5-3-1. The Eagles
