KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Veterans Day is designed to honor those who’ve served and fallen in the line of duty, and if you ask any former military, they’ll tell you the day means a lot to them.

“Without our veterans and the military that we have, we stand to lose our country,” said Stuart Hall, president of the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.

While it’s essential to honor those who served on Veterans Day, former military members emphasize the importance of helping one another as well.

That’s what the Knoxville Veterans of Foreign Wars did at a fundraiser on Monday.
