KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Tennessee Department of Transportation is exploring several solutions to address traffic congestion on Interstate 40 in West Knoxville, the busiest portion of interstate in Tennessee.
These meetings come as a new report shows Knoxville is expected to have the most people move here in the entire country next year.

Drivers said they have developed strategies to cope with rush hour traffic on the corridor.
“You time your clock around it. If I’m going to leave at this minute or if I’m going to leave in 10 minutes or if I’m going to get out the door now,” said Brian Walker, a Knox County resident.
Robert Hill, a Farragut neighbor who said he helped expand I-40 in the 1980s, said he adjusts his schedule to avoid peak traffic times.
