A man has been arrested over an alleged shooting that occurred in a supermarket carpark earlier this month.

Shocking footage of a man running while covered in blood emerged on Saturday, November 1, with police alleging the individual had been shot following an argument in the Bayswater supermarket carpark in the middle of the afternoon.

Crime Squad detectives investigating the incident executed multiple warrants on Monday, finding a cut up firearm that was located at a residential address in Mooroolbark.

A 30-year-old Mooroolbark man was arrested and later charged with intentionally causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, and prohibited person possessing a firearm.

The incident allegedly occurred in the car park outside Coles Bayswater, between Station and High Stree
