ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An overnight structure fire broke out in south Abilene on Monday, where witnesses say two high school students jumped into action to help a family of five.

The fire happened in the 2500 block of Regent Drive.

Neighbors reported hearing several loud booms before rushing outside to find the home on fire. One witness told KTAB/KRBC that two nearby high school students quickly called 911 and helped a family of five, including three children, get out just moments before the explosions occurred.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. BigCountryHomepage will provide updates as more information becomes available.
