MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - The Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation approved its new teachers’ agreement on Monday night.
The starting salary for new teachers will now be $50,000, which is nearly $2,000 more than the previous minimum.
The maximum salary will now be $86,777, which is more than $2,000 above the previous maximum.
Additionally, teachers who worked at least 120 school days during last school year will get a one-time $650 stipend and teachers who coach or lead extracurricular activities will receive a 2% increase in stipends.
The district says the salary adjustments are retroactive to July 1, 2025, and extend through June 30, 2026.
