RITZVILLE, Wash — Ritzville's only hospital is at risk of laying off staff and potentially being closed.
According to a WARN notice sent to the Washington State Employment Security Department, East Adams Rural Healthcare is facing severe financial problems due to $13.4 million in losses from 2022 to 2024.
Despite getting $2 million in Washington State Hospital Distressed funding, the interim CEO Todd Nida said their debt has gotten to a point where vendors can't support them without being paid.
The potential layoff could impact 108 employees in early January. Positions include paramedics, EMTs and board members.
The hospital announced a community meeting is set for Saturday, Nov. 15, to talk about its future. It’ll take place at Legion Hall, located at 106 W Broadway Ave. in Ritzville,
