Police have launched a murder probe after a beloved grandfather was found dead at his home.

"Much-loved" John Boyle, 71, was discovered at his flat in Kettering, Northamptonshire , on Saturday evening after officers received a report regarding a concern for his welfare. Four people have been arrested since the discovery, including two men aged 45 and 42, and two women aged 35 and 27. All four suspects remain in police custody.

Mr Boyle's family described him as a "gentle and generous soul" in a touching tribute released through Northamptonshire Police . "Our family is devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved father - John Boyle," the statement read. "He was not only a father of six and a proud grandfather of 15, he was a man whose love and kindness touched everyone who knew him
