Pakistan blast: As many as 12 people were reported to have been killed in an explosion at the District and Sessions Court located in Islamabad’s G-11 area in Pakistan.

A senior Islamabad police official confirmed the death toll to Pakistani news agency Dawn.

Videos circulating on social media captured intense flames and thick smoke billowing from the wreckage of a burnt vehicle situated behind a security barricade.

According to Dawn, the sound of the explosion was heard up to six kilometres away. The area has since been sealed off as authorities begin their investigation into the incident.
