Tension mounted at the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, today, as the NEHU Students’ Union (NEHUSU) and the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) NEHU Unit jointly protested against the university administration’s decision to hold the 193rd Executive Council (EC) meeting in New Delhi on November 14.
The meeting has been convened by Vice-Chancellor Prof. P.S. Shukla.
The two student bodies, along with the North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA), have condemned the move as “unjustified” and “illegitimate,” demanding that the meeting be held on the Shillong campus.
