Police are investigating after, officials said, a body was discovered in a trash can in Norristown on Monday night.

According to police, a body was found in a trash can along the 100 block of Buttonwood Street in Norristown at about 8 p.m. on Monday.

However, police could not immediately provide further information on the identity of the person whose remains were discovered, the condition they were in or how they may have died.

But, officials said, an investigation is ongoing.
