EAST LANSING – Michigan State hammered the recruiting trail during the summer to fill out most of its next recruiting class.
The Spartans added 17 commits to the 2026 group in June alone with one followed in July while pitching belief in the program’s future.
Getting that to resonate lately is more difficult with Michigan State (3-6, 0-6 Big Ten) mired in a six-game losing streak and rampant speculation about second-year Jonathan Smith’s future. The outside noise aside, the staff must keep recruiting and did more of it during a bye last week, which yielded a result.
