The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Mangaluru unit, staged a massive protest near the Clock Tower in the city condemning the alleged irregularities taking place at Mangalore University. Over 300 students from various colleges participated in the protest.

Once regarded as one of the most prosperous universities in the state a decade ago, Mangalore University is now in a deplorable condition. It is no exaggeration to say that the university, which should naturally have progressed over time, is instead heading steadily towards decline.
