Six students of Government Junior College (Girls), Osmanpura here, fell ill after inhaling the smoke emanating from the burning of litter on Tuesday.
The incident occurred while the students of junior college were preparing for examinations, while sitting in classrooms and in the veranda during their study
hour.
Smoke emanated from the litter burnt in the adjacent government school. After inhaling the smoke spread from it, six students fell unconscious one after another.
College authorities immediately shifted them to the district headquarters hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The condition of students is stable.
