TRAVERSE CITY — On weekday mornings, rain, shine or snow, northern Michigan children climb aboard a school bus for a day of learning. But across the globe, 122 million girls are without the privilege of attending school and the opportunities education affords.

On Wednesday, the International Affairs Forum at Northwestern Michigan College will host “Fighting for Girls’ Education: A Future Where Girls are Free to Learn & Lead” with Ziauddin Yousafzai, father of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Ziauddin Yousafzai is a lifelong advocate for education rights.
