A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Monday evening in Dickinson. The incident began shortly after 5 p.m. when police received multiple welfare check requests from friends and family concerned about suicidal comments the man had made. According to the Dickinson Police Department, he was eventually located near the emergency room at St. Alexius Hospital. Witnesses reported that the 34-year-old male had fired several shots in a nearby field before officers arrived. Police established a perimeter and attempted to persuade him to drop the weapon and accept help.
