Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, who is reportedly a candidate for the Penn State job opening, received a death threat after his team’s loss to California this past weekend, according to police.

The Louisville Courier Journal reports that Brian Mandel of Corpus Christi, Texas has been charged with six counts of terroristic threatening and one count of extortion. His bond is set at $100,000, according to the report.

Police say that Mandel threatened Jeff Brohm, his family and players on the Louisville football team after the Cardinals lost to Cal on Saturday.

Louisville Athletics Director Josh Heird released a statement to reporter Pat Forde about the alleged threats.
