A cause of death has been announced following the death of Ace Frehley , legendary guitarist and founding member of rock band Kiss.

The 74-year-old died on Oct. 16 of blunt trauma to the head due to a fall, according to a report from the Morris County Medical Examiner obtained by TMZ .

The manner of his death was ruled an accident.

Frehley’s family announced his death after making the decision to turn off his ventilator, the outlet reported.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth,” the family said in a statement.
