New Delhi: England’s batting coach Marcus Trescothick has defended his team’s minimal preparation ahead of the upcoming Ashes series against Australia. This comes after England great Ian Botham questioned their preparation ahead of the big series, saying that they are not playing even a single match against a state team.

Trescothick said that not engaging in warm-up matches against local tams reflects the current norms of the modern game. Over the last week, the tourists have gradually arrived in Perth with their full squad including several players returning from a limited-overs tour of New Zealand coming together for a training session that lasted over two hours at Lilac Hill in Perth’s eastern suburbs.
