AUSTIN, Minn. — Hormel Foods Corporation announced the recipients of the $10,000 Hormel Heroes Scholarships, supporting military veterans pursuing careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Jazmen Wilkerson and Shawn Ruiz are the latest recipients. Wilkerson, a retired Culinary Specialist First Class of the U.S. Navy, is a senior at Morgan State University studying hospitality management. She aims to launch an entertainment bus company blending food, travel, and events. Ruiz, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is completing his senior year at American University. He plans to pursue a master's degree in project management, aspiring to lead food and beverage operations globally.
