Intelligence reports have emerged that the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort was not the result of a planned terror attack or a suicide bombing.
According to sources, the suspected terrorist, Umar Mohammad, had not intended to carry out a blast at the site. Instead, he was reportedly transporting an explosive-laden vehicle to another location when the incident occurred.
As per sources, investigators believe that Umar Mohammad, fearing arrest amid the ongoing nationwide anti-terror operations, was attempting to evade capture. Preliminary forensic analysis suggests that the explosion was caused by an incomplete improvised explosive device (IED) that did not fully detonate. This incomplete detonation significantly reduced the blast intensity, preventing large-scale damage or casualties.
