A major row broke out after US President Donald Trump threatened to sue the BBC for at least one billion dollars over what he says is a misleading edit of his January 6 speech. The clash has triggered resignations at the top of the broadcaster, The Panorama episode at the centre of the controversy stitched together two separate lines from Trump’s 2021 speech in Washington.
