PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Orange High School can legitimately claim it has the best tennis program in the state – at least at the Division II level.
Five months after Orange captured the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association (OTCA) Division II boys state championship last spring, the Lions took home the OTCA Division II girls state title as well.
The Orange Board of Education recognized members of the girls tennis team – as well as state-qualifying student-athletes in two other fall sports – Monday (Nov. 10).
Orange also boasts its first state singles champion ever in girls tennis.
It’s sophomore Genevieve Hayden, who defeated Cincinnati Indian Hill’s Sophia Thompson in three sets to capture the OHSAA Division II state singles title.
