DALLAS — After months of "Fire Nico" chants at Dallas Mavericks games, other Dallas sporting events and even at Medieval Times, the Dallas Mavericks have fired Mavs GM Nico Harrison .

Mavs owner Patrick Dumont announced Tuesday that Harrison was out as general manager and president of basketball operations. Former Mavericks player Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi will lead the team's basketball operations in the interim.

While Harrison's early tenure with the Mavs was marked by success and the Mavs reaching the NBA Finals in 2024, Harrison has faced a barrage of criticism from Mavs fans since former Mavs star Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
