Cal State Fullerton is mourning the loss of Lauren Turner, a standout on the women’s soccer team who died Friday, Nov. 7, after spending nearly six weeks in intensive care. The university announced her passing Monday, Nov. 10, following injuries sustained in a Sept. 27 off-campus traffic collision.

Lauren Turner a rising star on the Titans soccer team

Turner, a sophomore from Tustin, California, appeared in 10 games this season and made eight starts. She played the full 90 minutes in the Titans’ 1-0 win over Pittsburgh on Aug. 28 — the program’s second-ever victory over an ACC opponent.

As a freshman, Turner played in all 20 games, scored her first collegiate goal against UC Riverside on Oct. 3, 2024, and earned four starts.
