This is the first time this season that Embiid will miss a game for a reason other than the management of his left knee, where he underwent arthroscopic surgery in April, and it is important to note that this is not an issue plaguing the knee that has caused him such significant problems in recent years.

Embiid has played in six of the Sixers' first 10 games in 2025-26, and all of his appearances have come with a minutes restriction that has never exceeded 26 minutes. Embiid has logged an average of 23.3 minutes
