Three men have been arrested following the discovery of a body in a field in Renfrewshire. Emergency services were alerted to the scene near High Mathernock Farm in Kilmacolm at approximately 9.20am today.

While the deceased has not yet been formally identified, the family of a 50-year-old man reported missing from Greenock earlier today has been informed. Police Scotland is investigating whether this death is connected to a disturbance reported on Lansbury Street, Greenock, at around 2.45am.

Forensic teams have been deployed to the area, with a blue tent visible in the garden of a property on Lansbury Street. The three arrested men, aged 51, 45, and 44, are being held in connection with assault as investigations continue.

A statement from Police Scotland confirmed the timeline of events, stating, "Around 9.20am on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, we were called to a report of a body found in a field near to High Mathernock Farm, Kilmacolm. The man has not formally been identified but the family of a 50-year-old man, who was reported missing from Greenock on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, have been made aware."
