Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will take over as interim head coach after the organization dismissed Brian Daboll this week .
According to ESPN , general manager Joe Schoen was the one to tell the team the news of Daboll’s firing at a regularly scheduled team meeting at 1 p.m. on Monday. Then, Kafka addressed the players.
Per the report, “The essence of his message was that this was not easy for anyone, that Daboll was the reason he and so many of the players were in that room. Kafka also stressed the need to stick together and the opportunity in front of them all these next two months.”
Kafka will be the Giants’ sixth head coach since 2016. He is expected to remain the playcaller, according to ESPN.
