LEHI — City officials on Monday said the investigation into a massive fire that tore through an under-construction, high-density development was on hold due to ongoing safety concerns at the site.

According to firefighters, the blaze was first called into dispatch by project security Sunday at 10:17 a.m., and the flames quickly spread around the development, which was expected to include over 300 housing units.

By the time roughly 100 firefighters were able to get on top of the fire, most of the site had sustained damage, including two large construction cranes which towered over the property.

On Monday, city officials said the investigation was temporarily on hold until safety concerns surrounding the cranes could be addressed.
