President Donald Trump is promoting a plan to send some Americans a $2,000 rebate check funded from the tariff revenue his administration has collected.
As the Supreme Court considers whether Trump’s tariffs can remain intact, the president said that “a dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid” from the funds collected by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents.
Trump also called those who have opposed his tariffs “FOOLS!” and said the U.S. is “taking in Trillions of Dollars” in an effort to pay down the country’s $38-trillion national debt.
