A pair of 15-year-olds were charged in connection with a string of armed robberies in the city’s east end, Montreal police said Tuesday.
The suspects, who were taken into custody on Nov. 5 before being charged and released the following day, are accused of targeting victims online through classified ads, police said in a statement. The pair would then allegedly attack them with pepper spray and steal their belongings.
The alleged attacks took place in the Anjou, St-Léonard and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve boroughs.
It prompted an investigation by the SPVM’s eastern investigative section, supported by several local police stations and other specialized units, police said.
After being arrested, the pair appeared in youth court on Nov. 6, police said. The were charged with armed robbery,
