A courtside interaction between Dallas Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont and a Mavericks fan wearing a Luka Doncic Lakers’ jersey foreshadowed the firing on Tuesday of GM Nico Harrison, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

“Just [Monday] night we saw Patrick Dumont sitting with a fan courtside, I’m told that interaction with Patrick Dumont admitting to the fan that the organization had made a mistake with the Luka Doncic trade in February and that he was going to take accountability for it and do right by the fans, and so a day later he’s made the decision to fire Nico Harrison,” Charania said on ESPN.

The Mavericks fell to 3-8 after Monday’s 116-114 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Dumont was shown during the game having a lengthy chat with a fan wearing a No. 77 Doncic Lakers’ jersey.
