The teenager who pleaded guilty to killing a Queensland grandmother in a shopping centre car park stabbed her and did not hesitate, a court has heard during his sentencing hearing in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Vyleen White, 70, died after she was stabbed in the car park of a Redbank Plains shopping centre in February last year.

Her death sent shockwaves through the community, and sparked outrage over juvenile offenders.

Earlier this year, the teenager, who cannot be named under Queensland law, pleaded guilty to her murder in the Supreme Court. He also pleaded guilty to charges of stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Loading
