Legislators to discuss budget deficit, property tax deadline

Delaware lawmakers will gather Nov. 13 to fix an unexpected $400 million shortfall in the state budget.

In October, the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council predicted the state would lose about $400 million over the next three years due to President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

The act includes a string of tax breaks that would benefit corporations and wealthy individuals across the country.
