CHENNAI: Two years after history-sheeter Karukka Vinoth, 39, hurled petrol-filled bottle at the Raj Bhavan gate, a special court for National Investigation Agency (NIA) cases in Poonamallee found him guilty and imposed 10-year jail term on him. The incident occurred on Oct 25, 2023. The NIA had charged Vinoth with hurling two petrol-filled bottles on the Raj Bhavan premises, causing an explosion and damaging govt property. Following a special report filed by the Guindy police, a case was initially registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Explosive Substances Act, and the Tamil Nadu Property (Prevention of Damages and Loss) Act.
