400 families receive food in Ann Arbor at drive-thru emergency distribution

ANN ARBOR, MI - Drivers eager to get a box of food and a gallon of milk arrived even before volunteers on Wednesday morning.

The Nov. 12 distribution, held at Ann Arbor’s Briarwood Mall, was the second of four drive-thru distributions held by Food Gatherers over two weeks. The distributions are meant to offset effects of suspended food assistance during the ongoing shutdown of the federal government.
