DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A middle school teacher in Douglas County has been arrested on charges related to child sexual assault and exploitation, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) shared on Wednesday.
According to DCSO, Teresa Whalin, 28, has been employed by the Douglas County School District since July 2021 and is a teacher at Ranch View Middle School in Highlands Ranch. According to the school’s website, Whalin is an “Integrated Wellness” teacher.
DCSO said Whalin was arrested Monday on suspicion of sexual assault on a child, internet exploitation of a child and stalking.
The sheriff’s office said Whalin has been placed on administrative leave and the school district is cooperating with their ongoing investigation.
